Not being an American, why is the flag reversed when worn on a sleeve?

The flag should always be facing the direction it would be moving if you are moving forward, in this case the flag on the right sleeve should be ‘reversed’ so that when you walk, it is moving forwards as well. If the flag were on the left sleeve, it would appear ‘normal’.

Interesting. Now I know! I guess with the Canadian flag, it doesn’t matter as it’s symmetrical.
